{"id":717,"date":"2014-08-22T12:30:19","date_gmt":"2014-08-22T17:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jimoshea-author.com\/main\/?p=717"},"modified":"2014-08-22T12:33:51","modified_gmt":"2014-08-22T17:33:51","slug":"lunch-ferguson-mo-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jimoshea-author.com\/main\/lunch-ferguson-mo-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Lunch in Ferguson, MO today!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\"><div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 5px 5px 0;float:left;height:100px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/jimoshea-author.com\/main\/lunch-ferguson-mo-today\/\" send=\"true\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"450\" show_faces=\"true\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><div id=\"id_53f77c66a47020457095754\" class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\"><span class=\"userContent\" data-ft=\"{&quot;tn&quot;:&quot;K&quot;}\"><span class=\"userContent\" data-ft=\"{&quot;tn&quot;:&quot;K&quot;}\">YES&#8230;.I had lunch with my daughter today in a small town very close to where I grew up in the north St. Louis suburbs.<\/span><\/span>Ferguson, MO was a nice town then, and is a nice town today&#8230;&#8230;.except for the fact that it is being held hostage by dozens of out-of-town &#8220;activists&#8221; with their own personal agendas  , looters that aren&#8217;t even from Ferguson, and a horde of press tha<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">t would boggle the mind&#8230;.&#8221;journalists&#8221; who, in some cases, are making a bad situation worse with coverage that does not accurately reflect the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As a father, I&#8217;m very sad for this young man&#8217;s parents, I can only imagine their sense of loss. But I also feel compassion for so many others impacted by these tragic events, not the least of which are the residents nearby who can&#8217;t get to their late night jobs because of all the craziness&#8230;..some who risk losing those jobs as a result. Or the kids who haven&#8217;t been able to start their school year. Or the merchants whose businesses are virtually shut down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\">All because of an unprovoked shooting by a white police officer of an unarmed black\u00a0man&#8230;&#8230;which may or may not have happened. But I digress&#8230;..<\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\">New evidence (witnesses &amp; medical) is suggesting the officer may have been under attack.
